I Am Not
If you were to ask me, where I found my hope
I’d say, it probably came when I looked underneath
You know, where the sun shines in secret
For only one chosen soul to see
If you were to ask me, where I found my dreams
I’d tell you, where the city follows mountains
High above the clouds
And where the people from that city
Climb and never fall
But, I would remember every city has two faces
One of them growing dull of happy places
If you were to ask me, where I decided to run
When you told me to stay
Well, I’d just remind you that I never left
You simply took my heart and put it where only the dead lay
So, if my hopes and dreams really reflected love
And I still was found deprived of
Then I guess I’m not the chosen one
The one chosen by the sun
And that would mean, I lived on the side
The city never climbs;
The side for the fallen and denied
